Tracey is an LBTCC Committee Member and acts as the Club Safeguarding Officer and also AllStars Activator (Coach).
How did you first become involved in LBTCC?
I first became involved with LBTCC when my son bought an All Stars leaflet home from school and told me he wanted to play cricket.
My response was ”No son, you really don't. But we signed him up anyway!”
I was allowed one week of just being a spectating parent before Austin had me 'helping' during the sessions... Soon I realised the bar was open so stayed behind for a drink with new friends and that's when Friday nights at the club became a thing, 4 years ago!
I've now been an All Stars Activator and the Club Safeguarding Officer for 3 years.
What does a typical week for you look like during the season?
It all depends on what's happening within the club as to how involved I am, it can be quiet for ages and then, BOOM, someone will contact me with a concern or decide they want to start live streaming matches during the 2023 so policies need updating!
What do you enjoy most about volunteering your time at LBTCC?
Absolutely love our AllStar sessions and have had the honour and pleasure of seeing some of our youngest players move up in to the Juniors or deciding they want to stay back in the national programmes because 'Tracey and Kevin are so much fun!'
It is rare that I won't be seen at the club during the season. Well, who wouldn't want to watch a cricket match with a glass of fizz or two in the company of such amazing people when the sun is shining and the club is so welcoming?!
